Foundational yoga for beginners and advanced practitioners.

Hatha yoga is often slower moving than a Vinyasa yoga practice, but it can be challenging, stimulating, or soft, depending on the circumstances. The integration of breath while holding poses for long periods of time with intention and relaxation comprise this branch of practice that encompasses and integrates many forms.

Anchor your mind and body with sturdy, traditional standing postures. This grounding practice includes modified Crescent Lunge and variations of Extended Side Angle and Triangle before finishing with supine hip rotations. Explore the relationship between your glutes, hamstrings, quads, and hip flexors for a deep release. Progress through Sun Salutations with Hero, Pigeon, and Saddle poses before finishing with Happy Baby. Use this practice as a compliment to “Backbend Flow Vinyasa”. Begin with Table Top crunches and variations of Salabhasana (Locust Pose) and Malasana. Finish with a supine twist before ending in Savasana.
