I see the NZ Super fund are stocking up on Freightways shares (see attachment for detail) . I am going to take my entitlement up when smaller shareholders get their chance. Looking to go from 8200 to 10000 shares.

The Freightways share purchase plan has been announced (see attachment at bottom of page) and at $2.44 or less I will be getting as many as I am allowed to under the plan.

The offer under the SPP is expected to commence on 11 May 2009, at which time it is intended that applicable offer documentation would be distributed to eligible shareholders who were entered on the Freightways share register as at the close of trading on 8 May 2009. This timing follows closely behind Freightways' trading update announcement scheduled for 30 April 2009 in respect of its trading performance for the nine months ended 31 March 2009.

Mate, get over it, what is done is done. You might be able to get more shares cheaper in a few months

I have received an allotment of 431 shares in the FRE SPP today.

Bizarre state of affairs to see the super fund getting only 449 shares in the SPP (details in attachment below) like the rest of us plebs and slipping out of the substantial shareholder category. I wonder how much they went after?

I missed this one at the end of May. Freightways is on Bruce Sheppard's list of NZX listed companies with debt worries. 3 and a half bucks per dollar earned to be precise. (see attachments for detail)

Should boost the liquidity, following and share price. Look out for the debt though....

Freightways Ltd (FRE) will join the NZX 15 Index from September 21, replacing Fisher & Paykel Appliances Holdings Ltd.

Companies eligible to be included in the NZX 15 are ranked by six-month average free-float market capitalisation, and meet specified liquidity requirements.

The exchange's equity indices are used as benchmarks for the sharemarket.

The NZX 15 was at 5777.93 today, up 11 points or 0.21 percent on yesterday's close.

It peaked in August around 5800, after climbing sharply during July from about 4800.

Seems to be at a low at the moment at a technical analysis. The chart show FRE as kind of jaggered over the years, and it wasn't that long ago when by my layman's intuition, I figured FRE will never hit anything below $3.00, at least in the next 2-3 years. I kind of understand that the Emissions Trading Act comes big into play here.

I don't have any spare cash at the moment, unless I sell some shares quite possibly from AIA (which appears at a low), but if I had, I would have increased my FRE holdings.

Just a passing comment, nothing serious.
